花旗参，又名西洋参，因原产于美国北部，以美国旧名花旗国取名。花旗参跟人参有差别，花旗参属凉性，在《医学衷中参西录》中谈到：凡欲用人参而不受人参之温补者，皆可以此代之。
注意：花旗参不宜与铁器接触，如果泡热水服用，请尽量用陶瓷或或玻璃制的杯子。
American Ginseng, also known as Western Ginseng, it’s named after United States, where it originated in the northern regions, hence the name “American”. It differs from traditional ginseng and it’s classified as having a cooling nature. In the Chinese medical book, Integrating Chinese And Western Medicine, it’s mentioned: “Those who wish to use ginseng but cannot tolerate its warming effects can use American Ginseng as a substitute.”
Note: American Ginseng is not advisable to contact with iron. When dissolved in hot water, it’s advisable to use ceramic or glass mugs whenever possible.
